Store at the Fort Steele National Heritage Town, East Kootenays

The Fort Steele Heritage Town features an assortment of early 1900s buildings: the barracks, a train station, a church, a theater, town houses and businesses. We are drawn to a small building housing a traditional bakery by heavenly smells wafting down the streets. What a disappointment, when we learn that none of the hundreds of loaves were for sale: they were all pre-ordered by cafés, restaurants and delis in the neighbouhood.
